A team of Two Archers and the Scribe of the
Nigeria Archery Federation departed Nigeria to Cote D'Voire en route Benin
Border on April 26th 2018 in order to participate at the Cote D'Voire Grand
Prix 2018.
The team that participated
includes Olatunji Gbenga, Alapini Oladipo, and Abdulrahman Adisa, Seun Faleye; the only lady that was to attend the
championship was unable to go due to bottle neck bureaucracy in her working place,
On the account of what transpired
at the event; the team participated: “In the 50 Meters team event, 50 meters
individual (men), 70 meters team event, and 70 meters Individual event. The team
won 2 Silver medals in team event and the team was given fare play medal. The
total medal won are 2 Silver and A medal for fare play.
The competition at Cote D’Ivoire had six categories;
1. 50 Metres Men (Individual)
2. 50 Metres Ladies (Individual)
3. 50 Metres Team
4. 70 Metres Men (Individual)
5. 70 Metres Ladies (Individual)
6. 70 Metres Team.
Nigerian team participated with
the new bows given to them by the World Archery and for the first time ever to
use such state of art equipment; they performed creditably and the Secretary
promised to perform better in the next championship with the new equipment and
he appreciates World Archery for the equipment support and also for the
sponsorship by the President Alh Abdullahi Mohammed.
The team returned on Sunday 1st
of April, 2018 via the same route; the Benin Republic Border.
