At the event, it was stated by Hons T. Popoola that "The National Sports Federations' elections of Tuesday 13th June 2017 was a partnership between the Nigeria Olympic Committee and the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports to restore democracy to sports and end the perennial interference to sports Federations' governance, independence and autonomy"

Federation of Africa Archery Elections

FAA Extraordinary congress held on 10 November 2018, at the Congress; World Archery Africa approved a system of staggered elections. The Congress was held in Cairo, Egypt on 10 November.  At the Congress the president of the Nigeria Archery Federation - Alh. Abdullahi contested at the elections and became one of the FAA members (Representative of West Africa on FAA Board)  until 2022.

Nigerian Archery President Elected Deputy Secretary General of Nigeria Olympic Committee

The Nigeria Olympic Elections took place in Adamawa state in December and at the NOC meeting Mohammed Baba Abdullahi, president of the Nigeria Archery Federation, was elected deputy secretary general of the Nigerian Olympic Committee on 20 December in the city of Yola.
He will serve in the position for a four-year term.

Abdullahi has been president of Nigeria’s archery Federation since March 2016. He is also CEO of Nigeria Olympic Hospitality House and a board member of World Archery Africa.
He was previously first vice president of the Association of West African Wrestling and president of the Traditional Sports Federation in Nigeria. 

His professional background is in marketing and business development.
