Brief Analysis:

You will recall that before current board assumed office, there was virtually no organised team or structure for Archery throughout Nigeria.

Between the time we took the mantle of leadership to date the game of Archery has blossomed with organised structure as a Federation Board, trickling down to established Clubs in Lagos, Abuja and Niger States.

Agencies like the Nigeria Police today has a very strong team comprising male and female Archers close to 60 Athletes and Official, followed by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps with established structures.

The March event is expected to attract participants from other agencies like the Army, Navy and Air-force, along with the Nigeria Immigration, Road Safety, Fire Service, EFCC etc.

Most importantly, as we speak, Archery has State Chapters recognized by various State  Governments as established Sports  Associations with Boards  in Abuja, Lagos, Niger, Kogi and Zamfara. Other states on the waiting list are: Delta, Borno, Kebbi, Benue, Sokoto, Enugu, Ebonyi, Plateau, Taraba and Nasarawa.

At this point in time we must express our appreciation to the Nigeria Olympic Committee and most importantly the African Archery Federation and the World Archery Federation for the onerous support that has given us the enabling environment to carry go with the journey so far.

The media is a special and strategic partner that we have always and can always count on for promotion and progating the sports, to you we ever remain grateful.

To the glory of God the Nigeria Archery  Federation is now a Board/Council Member Of the African Archery Federation and the Deputy Secretary General of the Nigeria Olympic Committee.

M. B. Abdullahi
President
