BASIC ARCHERY TRAINING
WORKSHOP AND INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2015, ORGANIZED BY THE RECONSTITUTED NIGERIA
ARCHERY FEDERATION HELD ON 1ST AND 2ND OF MAY, 2015.
The workshop target was to cash Archers of all levels, and it
was keenly interesting to the participants. The program proceeded with basic theoretical
and followed by practical training while all participants were able to demonstrate
their shooting skills with corrections.
After the program the Federation decided to establish a new
training zone/club at the centre (University of Lagos) in order to further
encourage and improve their skills. Two bamboo bows and one brake down bows were
donated to them at the centre for their members and also with a coach who will
be handling their training.
INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
On 2nd MAY 2015, Invitational Archery Championship held in Lagos, Nigeria for the first time ever, 10 Archers were invited and they all shot 10arrows each on 80cm target face at 30m distance and the winners on both categories are stated bellow:
Men’s Category:
2nd
Olatunji
Olusegun represented Ogun State scored
50points and
3rd Position was Olusesi Olamilekan represented Lagos State scored 34points
4th
and 5th positions are new comers Abraham Komolafe and Oluwole
Tijani
both are undergraduate students of
University of Lagos, scored 28 points each.
Women’s Category:
2nd
Beauty A. Dickson a new comer and
student of University of Lagos
scored 44pts
3rd Aderonke
Oludara also scored 26points while two others could not score any point.
Both the
winners and runners up were presented with trophies and replicas each by the President
Dr. Niran Adeniji and also promised
to continue the developmental programs in other States of Nigeria.
